The Review of the Holy Paladins

In early 2010, WoW Insider decided that it was in our  swtor credits  readers' best interests to begin to break our publishing weekly class in separate columns for some of the hybrid specs. Instead of trying to cope with the responsibility of covering the three majors champions, Gregg and I split the rights champion. It covers specifications that love the power while I cover the specification of the intellect batteries, and wow gold occasionally plunging into the territory of another in his case.

Writing about the cure was a new experience for me, as my rogue really focused on the issue of cut and dry to maximize DPS. I figured that covering a healing function is a much more nebulous, since it is usually more than one wow gold way to do the job. Unfortunately, that was not the case of holy Paladins, as our love-hate (mostly love) with the intellect dictated almost every aspect of our style of play.

Recalling the Icecrown Citadel
It's hard to believe we were actually attacking Icecrown Citadel a year ago, as buy wow gold  the memory seems so fresh in my mind. I guess it's due to the fact that most people were still attacking well into the fall, but that's another story for another time. Just as the holy Paladins were able to key elements in exploiting Yogg-Saron through healing and self-righteous fury and Anub'arak through St. Anger buy wow gold  with a glyph, which were all stars of healing of the ICC.

The relationship between the holy Paladins, intellect, and the rush came to a critical mass that we have equipped the new team of Icecrown. We easily get to the paperback hurry, our understanding created groups of mana so wow gold  massive that they could not run out of mana, and double the capacity of Holy Light built into the performance through Beacon of Light said that we were all but required to any serious head meeting. Blizzard developers admitted that they had to design next head injury around the assumption that there was a holy paladin in the attack, otherwise, our presence would trivialize the encounter.

Our power in the first 11 fights in Icecrown, while surprising, was not even wow gold what sets us apart. All the leaders of the CPI were easy prey compared to the ultimate challenge that awaited us in the Frozen Throne, Arthas. As I said at the time, our skills seemed perfectly suited to the fight against the Lich King every move. Aura Infest domain prevented the destruction of the raid, while the Holy wrath Val'kyr simplified kill, and Holy Light and Hand of Sacrifice was the cure for the Soul Reaper. The perfect synergy between the sacred and the Paladins find most difficult in the game has been invaluable to conquer Arthas.

Powerful, but boring
Although we enjoyed the most powerful healers in all, many of us still lamented the buy wow gold  simple gameplay of the class. Although he had a full range of support capabilities, our strategy of healing was reduced to spam Holy Light "with no other option. Excessive amounts of fast blurring the line between Flash of Light and Holy Light to the point of irrelevance, and intellect made managing our mana trivial. He had none of the healing mechanisms of coupling of the other classes, and our healing AoE was particularly lacking. Because of these limitations, which were buy wow gold  always relegated to healing the tanks and nothing else. We need some serious changes, and Blizzard went through us in the beta Cataclysm. While welcoming the Sunwalkers the fold was cool, bigger changes down the road.

Two heals and a new bar
While developers a while to figure out what I wanted the name of our new skills, it was clear from the beginning that we had several successful new priest that we can fill any role. Holy glow and the light of dawn two have been through several iterations, with the light of dawn being completely redesigned more than once. The end result was a holy paladin complete, our ability to tank intact and healthy healing our new AoE support the raid.

Not content with just us throwing a few heals, Blizzard also gave us a new mechanism: the sacred power. It was a big change to the status quo of simply using mana, and join the good company of hunters and warlocks receiving regimens kinds of new resources in the cataclysm. Holy power ensures that as we are healing the tanks or attack, we will be watching our sacred power and planning our capacity utilization. Instead of just being able to spam light of dawn and break the game again, the sacred power serves as a built-in limiter to control our power.

While I was hesitant about the sacred power, which is proven to be very fun in practice. Healing is definitely a more interesting now, and no two fights are exactly the same to heal. Not only have the tools to handle both single-target damage and area of effect, we need diversity of healing to do good enough job making interactive. Mana management is a game that we had to play in years, and am happy to have made the choices to make instead of a button spam.

The most changed class
While hunters may have changed focus and mana for death knights saw their mechanical recharge rune renewed holy paladins the biggest change for the moment. Blizzard team saved the best for last to announce changes in class and the mass impact have completely changed the way the holy paladins in the game. Other healers are still struggling with the integration of healing changes in their existing toolkits, holy paladins had to adopt a completely new attitude to remain effective. The changes have more flexibility and depth to a specification that was once one of the most stupid, and I hope that this is a trend that continues in the coming year. Thank you! Have a good time in the game!
